Adult females captivate with their deep plum-purple iridescence visible in side lighting, and their massive bodies and energetic hunting habits quickly make them the star of any collection. The species is terrestrial, native to a region with a warm, humid climate, and prefers deep, slightly moist substrate for burrowing.
