Description

Coco Disc 110 g is a convenient, compressed coconut fibre substrate in disc form, designed for terrariums, breeding containers and enclosures for tarantulas, other arachnids, insects, reptiles and amphibians. When soaked in water, the disc swells and turns into a light, loose substrate made from ground coconut fibre.

This is a practical choice for tarantula keepers who want a substrate that takes up little space before use, whilst also being quick and easy to prepare. Coconut fibre retains moisture well, making it ideal for species that require a more humid environment. It can also be used as a slightly damp or drier substrate, depending on the needs of the specific species and how the terrarium is managed.

Coconut substrate is natural, porous and free from contaminants. It has been dust-removed, making it more convenient to use in terrariums. It is well suited as a base for hiding places, cork tubes, roots and decorative elements. For burrowing species, a thicker layer can be used to allow the tarantula to form hiding places and tunnels.

Coco Disc 110 g is particularly suitable for smaller terrariums, containers for young animals, and as a portion of substrate for partial substrate replacement. Once prepared, it is advisable to squeeze out any excess water to achieve a moisture level suited to the specific container.

Method:

Pour about 600 ml of warm water over the substrate and leave it to soak for about 30 minutes. Once it has expanded, break it up and squeeze out any excess water before placing it in the terrarium.

  • weight of a single disc: 110 g
