Description

Characteristics and natural environment of Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens

Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens occurs naturally in northern Venezuela, inhabiting drier regions but with access to areas of higher humidity. It is a ground-dwelling tarantula, known for creating extensive webs.

Conditions for breeding Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens

The spider requires a terrarium with a good ventilation system and minimal humidity to avoid drying out. The substrate should be dry, but the corner of the terrarium can be slightly moistened so that the spider can hydrate itself. Decorations such as bark and stones can serve as shelter.

Diet and nutrition

The spider should be fed a variety of insects, including crickets, cockroaches, and mealworm larvae. Feeding takes place 2-3 times a week, taking into account the size of the prey and the condition of the tarantula.

Reproduction of Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens

Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens can produce cocoons containing up to 250 young. Breeders should ensure suitable conditions for the female before and after mating to increase the chances of reproductive success.
